Engine Cooling System

While running and driving your car, your engine’s combustion process generates heat. What you might find surprising is without a properly functioning engine cooling system, your engine’s heat is great enough to damage components of the engine itself. A sure sign that there is something wrong is engine overheating. Aluminum heads can warp, head gaskets can blow, and worst-case, engines can fail. Your vehicles cooling system keeps the engine cool, flowing and smooth.

There are many components to the cooling system, such as:

  • Belts
  • Hoses
  • Coolant
  • Thermostat
  • Heater Core
  • Water Pump
  • Radiator

This is just a short list of some of the major components. The cooling system is very in-depth and complicated, but an important system.  Signs that its time to have your cooling system inspected:

  • coolant leaks
  • smoke from under the hood
  • overheating
  • Bubbling or gurgling sound under the hood

We will inspect your cooling system at all major intervals (30K, 60k, 90k etc..) and during every lube oil and filter change with us we inspect all your fluids, including the coolant. Don’t remember when the last time your cooling system was flushed or the system was inspected? Please give us a call today and we would be happy to make an appointment!
