For us, community involvement isn’t a campaign or a marketing message. It’s how we decide where our time, energy, and resources go as a local business. McCabe’s Automotive has been part of the Greater Tacoma community for decades, and we believe that longevity comes with responsibility. Supporting our neighbors, investing in the next generation, and contributing to causes that matter are not side projects for us. They are part of how we operate everyday.
Local Support and Community Care
We are committed to supporting local organizations and causes whenever possible, including:
Sponsoring local school events when approached for sponsorship support
Supporting Nourish Pierce County’s Hams for the Holidays program
Supporting the South King Firefighters Foundation
These efforts reflect our belief that small, local actions can make a meaningful difference when they are done consistently and with care.
Boy Scouts Christmas Tree Lot – Troop 248
Each year, we donate the use of our front lot so Boy Scouts Troop 248 can sell Christmas trees and raise funds for their programs. What began as a simple way to help has become a familiar holiday tradition for many families in University Place.
By opening our space to Troop 248 each winter, we’re supporting youth leadership, hands-on learning, and a visible community tradition that brings neighbors together. It’s one of the most direct and local ways we give back, and one we’re proud to continue year after year.
iTAC Mentorship Program
McCabe’s partners with iTAC to mentor young technicians as they begin their careers in the automotive industry. This relationship goes beyond an apprenticeship model and focuses on long-term mentorship, guidance, and helping individuals discover a lasting passion for the trade.
As a family-owned business with decades of experience, we believe it’s our responsibility to help raise the next generation of technicians. By investing time and knowledge into young people, we help strengthen the local workforce and the future of the industry.
AAA Partnership
We have partnered with AAA for many years because of their commitment to public safety and driver preparedness. As part of this partnership, McCabe’s voluntarily participates in bi-yearly AAA inspections, holding our shop to high standards that help protect both our customers and the broader community.
AAA also provides educational resources that help drivers stay informed, prepared, and confident on the road. Safer vehicles and better-informed drivers benefit everyone who shares our local roads.
Giving Back Beyond Our Neighborhood
While most of our community involvement happens close to home, we also support efforts that create meaningful change beyond our immediate area.
We partner with the Huntsman Hope Foundation and donate 1 percent of our monthly sales to support essential projects in Kakmie, Kenya, focused on clean water access, basic healthcare, and sanitation. These initiatives help improve daily life, restore dignity, and support long-term stability for families in underserved communities.
